Mindful of Love

On a daily basis we can go about our day with a mind set of; I have so many things to get done so little time. If it doesn't benefit me or help me get what I need done, its not worth the time.

Sadly, we can be very self seeking as we walk through each day. Living in a very fast past day and age always in a rush, not really enjoying the moments. Going from one thing to the next. Attitudes arise and love is the last thing that gets shared.

We get so focused on our self and what we need and want, that we forget to do the very thing Jesus asked us to do from the very beginning, which is to love one another. John 13:34 Jesus said "So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other."

Now I am not trying to point a finger at anyone, because I can honestly say I have done all of the above many times times before. But I realized that this life that I have been blessed with is not just about me. It's about doing what we were called to do, which is being a light in this world and showing love to others. God showed me that even though I knew what the Word said, I wasn't being MINDFUL of it on a regular basis. Showing, acting and being love wasn't at the forefront of my mind. When you think about it, that probably isn't at the forefront of anyone's mind with so many other things going on. We instantly react with a impatient, rude, insensitive or defensive attitude (been there done that) which does not spread love but creates hurt and division.

If you accepted Christ into your heart, the greatest example of love now lives in you. So therefore you have, and can operate in everything the following verses state if you are mindful of it and if you choose to. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

You can choose to love instead of anything otherwise, it's your choice. You can't control anyone but you have control over the things you choose to say and do. By stopping to take a few extra moments to show an act, a response, a glimpse of love can change any situation and speak volumes to someone who needed it in that moment.

It just takes a moment to sow a seed of love that can make the biggest difference in the lives of others!
