Time, the thing we take for granted

A common response when you ask someone “How’s it going?” Most likely is “Good, BUSY!!” Ha! I’ve realized I would say that constantly as a default response. I get it, we do get busy with what seems like a million things that need to get done each day. But do you think that is what we were created to be is busy?? I don’t think so and I don’t want to be busy all the time. I believe we were created for more than just bouncing from one thing to another unable to take the time to enjoy the moments that won’t always be there.

This is something I've been thinking about a lot recently, the time and moments that we take for granted. Yes there will always be things that need to get done BUT sometimes we need to stop and re-evaluate the things going on in our lives. Between taking care of our children, home, businesses and ministries there is always a lot happening. But these are things that God has blessed us with and given us vision to do. Along the way it can get a little hectic as other things get thrown into the mix as well.

So my husband and I had to look at the things going on in our lives, get organized, see what needs to take priority over others and find the things that are causing our days to get off track and hectic and make some changes.

Another thing I thought about was how we like to rush through the rough days. A few weeks ago I found myself saying “I can’t wait for this day to be over!” It was a rough day from start to finish. But the next morning I realized that even though the day before was rough, I shouldn’t just want it to be over. I want to make the most of the time we have, we don’t know what tomorrow will hold so lets make the most of today. Whether it’s a great day or a rough day, we can choose to change things around for the better, choose to see the positives in the midst of tough situations and enjoy the moments.

Let’s make the most of the time we are blessed with. If that means dealing with things that are uncomfortable and hard, or stop doing the things that may be distracting us or start doing things that have been on our heart to do but haven't yet. Stop putting things off until tomorrow, next week or next month, this life goes by so quickly we don't even realize it. It's not an over night fix it's a process, but whatever it may be it's worth making the necessary adjustments for us as individuals and for our families to help us all enjoy our everyday lives.

"Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” Matthew 6:34 (The Passion)

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. James 4:14 (NLT)

Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for His purposes.
